Local bookmark handling

The bookmarks permission lets the extension read bookmark titles, URLs and folders, build previews, apply your selected sorting rules, inspect duplicates, export backups and undo supported moves. Live sorting starts off and runs only when you enable it.

The storage permission saves rules, preferences, activity and transaction/recovery records in Chrome's local extension storage. The extension does not send this data to the developer or any server. It has no account system, advertising or analytics, and makes no background network requests.

Your files and Chrome settings

Backups and exported rules remain wherever you save them. Keep those files private if they contain personal bookmarks. Chrome's bookmark sync is controlled by your Chrome settings and Google's policies, separately from this extension. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage; your bookmarks and exported files remain.

Optional donation websites

Ko-fi and Buy Me a Coffee open only when you click their links. The extension does not attach bookmark contents, rules or recovery data to those links. The destination handles the visit and any information you provide under its own policy. See Ko-fi's privacy policy and Buy Me a Coffee's privacy policy.

If you donate, the platform or payment provider may make your supporter name, email, donation amount and message available to the maintainer. We use that information to manage donations and related support, and keep it as needed for follow-up and applicable record requirements. Contact us about deletion of information no longer needed. Donating does not change your extension access.

This website

The published website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub processes technical information such as IP addresses, request times and browser information to operate its services. See GitHub's privacy statement for its practices and retention. This site uses local images and styles, with no analytics scripts, external fonts, contact form or advertising.

Support email

If you email adamjohnflores@gmail.com, your email address and message are handled through Gmail to answer your request. Send only information needed to describe the issue. Remove private bookmarks from screenshots. Support messages may be retained for handling and necessary follow-up; contact us to request deletion of information no longer needed.

Use of Chrome API data

Bookmark Sorter's use of Chrome API data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Bookmark data is used only for the extension's visible bookmark tools. It is not sold, shared for advertising or sent to the developer for inspection.
